Cartridge Alignment & Neck Tension Die – Block 1

Unify bullet grip, improve cartridge concentricity, and extend case life

Your solution is the Cartridge Alignment & Neck Tension Die

The Cartridge Alignment & Neck Tension Die is a simple mechanical tool that, during bullet seating, unifies neck tension along the full length of the case neck while aligning the projectile with the cartridge axis. It replaces bullet seating and conventional crimping in a single operation.

Why inconsistent cartridges occur

Most reloaders focus on factors such as bullet type, powder charge, and overall cartridge length. And that naturally makes sense. Over long-term experimentation, however, it becomes clear that the problem sometimes arises in another part of the process: in the way the bullet is held in the case.

Conventional crimping causes the bullet-holding force to vary slightly from cartridge to cartridge, and the case neck deforms a little differently with each use. The result is small deviations in bullet concentricity and inconsistent projectile retention — issues that are difficult to detect from a single shot, but become clearly visible when cartridges are compared against one another.

How the die works

During bullet seating, the cartridge passes through the die, which unifies neck tension along the full length of the case neck and aligns the projectile with the cartridge axis in a single operation. The entire process is fast and fits naturally into a standard reloading workflow.

The result is a cartridge with uniform geometry and consistent bullet retention.

What it brings in practice

First of all, it unifies bullet grip – individual cartridges have more similar mechanical properties and behave more consistently when fired. Another effect is better bullet concentricity in relation to the cartridge case body, which contributes to more uniform bullet behavior after the shot.

The impact on case life is also significant. Unlike classic crimping, the case neck is not repeatedly deformed, so the cases last much longer. And these are far from all the benefits that users discover when working with the die.

The die was designed by Olda, who originally needed it as a tool for his own experiments – classic crimping was disrupting the consistency of his measurements and gradually damaging the cases. The solution he designed at the time proved useful outside the laboratory as well.

Available versions

The die is available in two versions. The standard version is made from raw tool material and is suitable for regular use. The hardened version is made from the same material, which is then heat-treated, and is suitable for long-term and intensive use.

Standard version — CZK 2,490    Hardened version — CZK 4,490

The die is always manufactured for a specific cartridge type. Select the caliber for which you want to order it.
